Artist Comments
It’s a ritual that goes unnoticed year after year. As the summer season ends and beaches close, the float line that keeps swimmers contained is pulled in to shore and stored behind the lifeguard shed. Nestled in a bed of dune grass for the winter, the floats endure rain, sleet and snow. Come spring they seem to emerge from the earthy tangle of dead grass and dirty sand and come to life once more.
